Hi all,
I watch a lot of American TV shows, a few of my (& the wife's) favourites are Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Suits, Dexter, Elementary and more.
Now I would like to share some of the best British TV shows, we don't produce as much, but we still have some great shows, some you will have heard off, other shows maybe not?
Here I list some of the best of British TV..
Sherlock, produced for the BBC this is the best version of Sherlock Holmes I have ever seen and by a long shot, IMHO anyway.
Whitechapel, another modern detective show, first season was based on a Jack the Ripper copycat. Very good TV.
Dr Who, I'm not a huge fan, but I still enjoy the odd episode. Excellent SiFi show
The Office, pretty old now but still extremely funny. Ricky Gervais at his best.
Idiot abroad, very funny travel show focusing on the hilarious Karl Pilkington staring Ricky Gervais
Silk, a legal series by the BBC, my wife loves this.
Inbetweeners, very funny comedy about tweens trying to fit in, don't confuse the excellent C4 version with the dodgy American MTV version.
Top Gear, I'm not a fan myself, but the wife loves it, which is strange as the show is very much aimed at men
Many classic comedies like, Monty Python, Only fools and horses, Faulty Towers, Black Adder (any but the first series).
If you like stand-up give Jimmy Carr a try, got to be my favourite Stand Up at the moment. I've seen Jimmy Carr live, he is just the funniest guy, very intelligent too, Cambridge or Oxford educated (can't remember which)
I will be interested to hear which of these shows are known or popular elsewhere or if anyone else can add some more popular British shows to the debate.
