I have recently aquired a NOS Sony VGP-XL1B that I would like to use to rip my CD collection to my PC using the 64 bit version of Windows 7 and dBPoweramp. I am able to load CDs into the changer just fine. The problem is that I am not able to get the changer to start reading the CDs. The dBpoweramp software recognizes the drive that the machine is connected to: J: [MASHITA-DVD-RAM SW-9584], but not the discs. I get the message to <Insert Audio CD>, even though there are discs in the machine. Am I missing something in the setup that's required to get dBpoweramp to control the changer?
Thanks, Bill.

Have you tried opening up Windows media center and entering one of the media options like music or movies so that the system begins to scan the discs?

With the batch ripper, you hit batch rip and a popup will come up. There is a button there to inventory your discs. You need to do that after you load so the batch ripper knows how many discs you have. Once you do that it will rip them all. If you don't, it stays stuck on the single drive.
