Need to acquire a replacement RF Keyboard Harness, Sony part # 1-964-154-11
I have tried to MacGuyver one, but have been unsuccessful and the computer still will not boot because it insists the keyboard is missing and halts.
If you are willing to part with yours, either respond to this thread or PM me and we can work out the details
Thank you :-)

This addendum might be more suitable for a different sub-forum, but the computer boots with a "Bios Checksum Error" "USB Floppy Drive Error" "Keyboard Error" "System Halted" when I boot up. I was successful in booting up a few times after I did the Mr Big Bios Update, but now it doesn't even POST. Any suggestions?

That's an odd problem, if the BIOS update had failed it would not have booted up successfully even once but that error would indicate some kind of EEPROM corruption. Did you do anything after the BIOS update when it successfully booted up or were there any issues with it that were unresolved before the BIOS update? Please confirm your full system specification.

Update! :-) I am happy to report that when I bought a replacement CMOS battery (The VGX-XL3 uses a CR2032) I accidentally grabbed a CR2025 by mistake. I guess I should have looked at the actual battery and not just the shelf label. "Trust, but verify," I guess. Days and days of trying everything but comparing the batteries installed in my two XL3s. After I bought and installed the correct one, it booted up fine without a hitch.
On an extremely risky plus side, I guess I learned how to disable (prank) anyone's desktop.
Happy Threading
