After finding this forum I'm hoping someone here can finally help solve a longstanding problem I've had with my changer. For several years it worked perfectly with Vista. After upgrading my VGX-XL2 to Windows 7 and fixing all the headaches and bugs associated with that, I find that my changer no longer recognizes audio disks in Media Center.
With Vista and XP I could batch rip CDs, now with Media Center on W7, My Music features no longer work and the software no longer recognizes CDs only DVDs. In order to load a disk I have to start the computer from off, Media Center will than load the disk, (CD information will not load if the computer is already on). The computer says the information is there and a disk is recognized in My Videos but it does not recognize audio CDs. My Music and My Changer features no longer work and I cannot rip a CD from WMC. I can open Windows Media Player, the disc is there with all the Gracenote info. I can rip the CD from there and the album then appears in WMC music library.
I can play and control the album library normally in WMC but if I want to add another disc I have to repeat this same process. I have tried reloading software, reconfigureing WMC and WMP nothing fixes the problem. So all that said, does anyone have a clue or solution, or do I continue with the nonsense.
