A few photos of the Silverstone LC20 black aluminium case, my case comes with USB 2.0 and no HHD caddy or support bar. Fortunately the support bar is incase you wish to put any weight on top of the HTPC which I do not. To get round the issues of no front USB2.0 and missing HHD caddy I intend to add to the spare 5.25 slot something like this... It takes 2xHDD a 3.5" and a 2.5", is hot swappable plus it has 2x USB 3.0 Ports. The case came with a remote control too, which looks ok for a living room but could look better and looks very functional, the direction pad has the option to use as a mouse or just up down left and right which I c think us pretty cool Not built yet, but here are some pics of it in my TV cabinet next to a VGX-XL.. Going to be building the HTPC soon, I'll keep updating

It is a shame the case is missing some parts but otherwise it still looks good. For the USB it might be worth dropping a line to Silverstone. They might sell you the upgraded part for the front panel as they do sell other case accessories. For the HDD caddy I stumbled across this interesting solution sometimes used by people building or modding custom cases. SEDNA - 2.5" / 3.5" Hard Disk Rubber StandHaving said all that, the combo bay device is a great simple solution. I considered that very item for another project. That was until I discovered iStarUSA. Their drive cages are gorgeous, expensive and incredibly difficult to obtain in the UK! Attachments:

I like the look of the rubber caddies, might be a future purchase. I read online that a minor issue with this case (and presumably the LC13) is some bad cable management, by taking off the front end of the case you can reroute the cables. The main complaint is the "short" HDAudio cable that isn't long enough for most motherboards... ... the solution I found online is to reroute it through the more suitable hole closer to the audio connectors... Whilst I had the front off decided to reroute the power switch cable, this cable only needs to travel a few centimetres but for some strange reason they routed it through the case and back again see pics... ...rerouted...

How is clearance around the on-board HDMI looking?
I really don't understand why motherboard manufacturers position this port right at the base when it could easily be positioned a little higher.

Yeah the HDMI is at the bottom, it is tight however it is not an issue with my cable. I wonder if they put it there so the HDMI port can rest ever so slightly on the case, doubt it. The case is advertised as having 2 front and 2 rear 80mm fan (cut outs?), However it only has the 2 rear so the front ones must be fastened onto the HHD caddy, however it appears to have room for a single 120mm front fan The larger 6 holes so could be positioned slightly right or slightly left.. My question is, although I'm only going to have a 35watt CPU and no graphics card at first, do you think 2 rear fans (slow spin 80mm quiet) and a fanned (92mm) heatsink (blowing the same way) will be enough to cool my HTPC or will I need that 120mm fan when I add a graphics card? Btw it has a 120mm quiet fan in the PSU if that makes any difference? Also the case does have plenty of internal space (especially without them HHD bay) Here are the fans in place(ish)..

I think the cooling you have got will be plenty for now. You may want to add an extra intake fan later depending on what graphics card you get.
Looks like there is space for a filtered intake fan on the side. Although it also looks like the case might be quite tight in the cabinet.

I'm waiting on my SSD drive, but I've powered it up to test everything is OK so far. No explosions, no beeps, just a nice quiet sound of air swirling through the case. Got to wait till Saturday to get the SSD drive, however I should have the 5.25 front drive caddy tomorrow so I should be able to totally finish the hardware side of things and just pop in the new SSD without even opening up the case on Saturday, that's my weekend sorted installing Windows 10. The HTPC sounds pretty quiet to me and that's without the top on so should be nice as quiet. I'm not such a fan of the motherboard LEDs, as I don't have a clear case I'll just disable these in the MB.
