I bought the system 4-5yrs ago, and used it to copy over 500 CDs to a digital library. Well, it sat for 3+yrs, was put in boxes, moved, and now I have unboxed and tried to use again (Visions of converting my friends CD collections - or even converting DVD collections!).
PC booted up to previous state just fine, connected changer, and added a few discs. System does not recognize the discs. Sometimes it reports an IO error talking to the Changer.
I have rebooted - changed the firewire port on the System and the Changer. Changed the cable, and now my system does not boot. It was booting with an ongoing beep - non-stop. Hard shutdown, reboot - loud long beep. Shutdown. Now it powers up, but nothing on the screen, and no beeps.
Any help? I know it is a 2005 machine - Im thinking I need new CMOS, but would like some guidance.
Thanks in advance - Jeff
