According to Sony.net, the worlds first Sony VAIO was called the "PCV-90" and was released to the USA in 1996, one year prior to Japan. The first VGX-XL, the VGX-XL1 was released 9 years later, in October 2005 beating the VGX-XL100 (first european VGX-XL) by almost 6 months.

You make me remember when I bought my VGX-XL100, it was on the launch day in France (March 2006) after waiting 6 months watching the XL1 on the web...

Sorry, I think I have a little dyslexia, I always seem to mix abbreviations up I sometimes refer to our systems as "VGX-VL" which is a little embarrassing I'll edit the OP now, cheers Please feel free to use this forum for your PSU project, or just to give a shout out.
