Hello just found this page. Excited to be able to down load the recovery disk So that I may start using my Sony vgx again. I am a paranormal investigator and have to use the computer to Download video to after investigations when my mother board went out I was Lost. Been using my laptop and it takes a long time to Do everything with. Really can’t wait to have it up and going

Can you still download windows 10 to make this work Yes. The vgx-xl range is known to work well with Win10. They are 2 known problems, but these can be overcome. 1)The physical eject button will "break", but CDs/DVDs are becoming less common (you can still eject CDs within windows by right clicking on the drive. If that's a deal breaker, you could hardwire the eject button. (With Win7/8 upgrades, it was possible to fix this issue with saftware) Another known issue is, the vgx-xl will not restart, you'll have to manually turn it on. This issue is easily, and quickly fixed by adjusting one setting in the bios or downgrading a driver to legacy. It's been a while since I've done it, but if you search on here for "known upgrade issues" you should find my guide.
