Hi Everyone. I've just recently resurrected my Vaio VGX-XL301 and am using it with an Asynchronous USB DAC. Really excited about it all again. I originally made the recovery disks a long time ago when I first got the system. Must have been about ten years ago. I decided to install the original Windows Vista OS again, having had Win 10 64 Bit on it for a while. To my horror the factory reset from the disks did not work. I found a few large scratched on the system recovery disk 1. I tried to burn a new copy from the download section. Problem is, when I try to boot from the disk 1 it seems it's not bootable? So tried another Vista install disk I had lying around. It must have been from some old Dell PC. When it came to Activating Vista, it failed. I then dug the original Serial number out of the bios, that failed too. Can Windows Vista still be activated? Also What was the original Graphics card that came with the VGX-XL301? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
