Hi all,
Just got a XGL-XL100 for a fiver (hence the name).
Looking forward to getting it up and running and learning more about the hardware.
I'd like to get Windows 11 / XP and maybe even a macOS Hackintosh build running on here eventually.
Currently I've booted it up with some drives in and it's not displaying an image on startup. Going to try reseating the GPU - hopefully it's nothing serious!
Great to find such a community. Cheers!

I can’t get the thing to post, at all. No RAM beeps if I remove all the RAM, I’ve tried numerous compatible sticks in all combinations, I’ve checked capacitors (no evidence of damage or bulging). PSU seems okay - hard drive, fans and DVD drive all come on. But there’s a more fundamental issue here that I’m having trouble working out. Haven’t seen it boot to BIOS screen at all yet.

Hi fora,
As you will have seen, most members have moved on now (including the forum owner). I haven’t posted in four years and this will probably be my last. The VGX machines are really quite old now and components will be subject to failure. Blown capacitors on the main board and GPU are a common fault. From the testing you have done I would try another GPU, you will find details of some compatible cards in the hardware forum.
Goodbye and good luck with it.
